A Manual For Composing A Brilliant Dissertation Proposal

When people hear the word “dissertation” they immediately become scared, because they think it is this unattainable goal that only freaks and nerds achieve. However, if taken seriously, it can be much less stressful and even enjoyable. The key thing here is to have a solid starting point, such as a dissertation proposal. It can be tricky though, so here are a couple of tips to get you started:

  1. Do something new.
  2. Research is a big part of your work, but here it really comes in. If you want your dissertation to be good, make sure it is on something no one has previously written before, or there is a lot of debate about it. Nobody wants to read the same stuff over and over again - be different!

  3. Do something you like.
  4. Completion of this task will take up a lot of your life, so you better enjoy it. Of course, it is not a fancy holiday but if it is about something you are truly interested in, you will find yourself being less tired and putting more effort into it.

  5. Be convincing.
  6. Make sure that whoever is looking at your proposal will see how passionate you are about this question. Not only that, you also have to show that the question you have chosen is actually worth pursuing and that you are qualified enough to tackle it.

  7. Do not compare yourself to other people.
  8. This may not be necessarily about the actual writing aspect of your work, but it’s still pretty important. You need to understand that you and your peers are different - you all are going to write about different things and you are all going to work at different speeds. You will not do your best if you constantly stress about how much you have done comparing to other people.

  9. Get ready to dedicate some time.
  10. Sometimes it’s hard to persuade yourself to stay inside when everybody else seems to be having a life but ,the more time you dedicate at early stages, the better the result will be. Don’t get too sad about missing a dance class or something like that - you have your whole life to experience all those things.

  11. Leave enough time in the end.
  12. You should to make sure you have enough time in the end to check everything and not to fall into a hysteria mode because you have forgotten to write the aims and objectives of your future dissertation.
